Committees

The members of the supervisory board, electoral committee and honorary board as well as the auditors are selected at the general meeting.

Supervisory board

The supervisory board comprises seven members, who are elected at the annual general meeting and subsequently serve for a term of four years. The work of the supervisory board is voluntary. The board members elect a chairperson and deputy chairperson from among their number. In addition, the board, which meets at least four times a year, adopts its own rules of procedure. Resolutions can be passed by a simple majority of the votes cast. The board has a quorum if more than half of its members are present.

Responsibilities

The tasks of the supervisory board include supervising the management of the club, approving the annual financial statements, and advising the executive committee on financialmatters and other important club issues.

Should club expenditures exceed the budget, the executive committee is required to obtain the approval of the supervisory board. In cooperation with the electoral committee, the board members propose the presidential candidate(s) to the general assembly for election.

Honorary board

The honorary board, which comprises seven members, is elected for four years at the annual general meeting. Candidates must have been a member of the club for an uninterrupted period of at least 15 years and be at least 40 years of age. At least one honorary board member should be qualified to hold the office of a judge.

Responsibilities

The honorary board, headed by the chairperson and deputy chairperson, has responsibility for deciding and mediating internal disputes between members and club bodies, as well as monitoring compliance with the club’s statutes and rules.

Advisory board

Eintracht Frankfurt is divided into a total of 20 departments. The respective department heads form the advisory board together with the club’s youth director and the assessor. The department heads are elected by the respective department meetings for a term of four years. The members of the advisory board then elect a chairperson and two deputies from among their number.

Responsibilities

The coordination of sports activities and the ratification of the youth regulations are among the tasks of the advisory board, as is proposing department members for honours. The board has a quorum when at least half of its members are present. The advisory board decides by simple majority.

Auditors

The club has five auditors, who are selected from at least seven eligible candidates who have been nominated for election by the electoral committee of the general meeting. The auditors serve for a term of four years.

Responsibilities

During this period, the main task is to audit all of the club’s cash and accounting records. The committee also has the right to examine the accounting records of all departments for accuracy and completeness.

Electoral committee

The 11-person electoral committee is made up of the chairpersons of the honorary board and advisory board, the head of the department with the most members, two further heads of department appointed by the advisory board as well as six members elected by the general meeting.

Responsibilities

In cooperation with the supervisory board, the committee members propose the presidential candidate(s) to the general assembly for election. As a rule, they meet several weeks before the upcoming elections to find suitable candidates for the respective offices. Together with the supervisory board, the electoral committee appoints the other members of the executive committee on the recommendation of the president, which requires the approval of a two-thirds majority of the members of both bodies. With a two-thirds majority, the electoral committee and the supervisory board have the power to remove individual members of the executive committee from office before the end of their term.
